The Grizzlies

Telling the inspiring true story of Inuit students in the small Arctic town of Kugluktuk, Miranda de Pencier depicts the negotiations the northern community must make facing widespread drug use, alcohol abuse, domestic violence and one of the highest teen suicide rates in the world due to the legacy of colonialism. In the film, we see the heartache from generational trauma and how the students gradually came together to find their passion and inspiration to break cycles and find community.
