AWAKE. A Dream from Standing Rock

AWAKE tells the dramatic story of the historic native-led peaceful resistance at the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota. Tens of thousands of people opposed the construction of the 3.7 billion dollar Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) which was proposed to be built on sovereign Lakota land, under the Missouri River, the only water source for the Standing Rock Reservation and the drinking water source for 17 million Americans downstream.
