This report documents how the BC child welfare system did not provide Alex, a Métis youth, a permanent home with family, leaving him to be placed in multiple care placements for over an 11-year period. Placed in a hotel room in Abbotsford, Alex took his own life by jumping out a window in an act of desperation.
